Firebird

Firebird is two part sculpture standing on a 40cm diameter mirror it is 22cm high.
An inferno of fiery colours, the top part is abstract kiln formed flames drawn from the mathematical geometry of hypotrochoids, this is mounted on an arc of streaky red and yellow transparent glass. When the sculpture's reflection is observed in the mirror on which it stands, an image is revealed to be a golden firebird on the underside of the arc.
