Heart Felt

Heartfelt has gained recognition by internationally renowned glass artists when it was awarded 2nd prize in the premier LWAGA (Lunch with a glass artist) Glass Art Competition. A competition for Valentines Day, challenged glass artists to create a heart with as much texture as possible. As biologist I created a bilateral glass art panel exploring in texture the juxtaposition of a whimsical, William Shakespeare quote in braille with an anatomical dissection of the human heart. The William Shakespeare quote comes from A Midsummer Night's Dream “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind; And therefore is wing'd Cupid painted blind."
